Academic Alert System

OSU-Tulsa is committed to the academic success of our students. The Undergraduate Progress Report/Academic Alert System (AAS) is a communication tool within OSU's STAR System (a program by EAB/GradesFirst) that allows instructors to voluntarily report good information (progress report) and/or concerns (academic alerts) about the attendance and academic performance of the students in their classes. This resource is continually available throughout the semester. 

The alert generates an email message to the student as well as providing information to the student's advisor.  If a student received an academic alert, they should contact their instructor to discuss ways to improve and also contact their academic advisor to obtain help with developing a plan for success.  Students can work with advisors to connect with tutoring services, career counseling, personal counseling, the Student Success Center and other campus resources.

Academic alerts can be sent for many reasons, including but not limited to attendance, poor quality work, missing work and a notification that the student cannot pass the class with the remaining coursework.
