OSU-Tulsa joins state initiative to help adults complete their degrees

OSU-Tulsa will participate in Reach Higher: DirectComplete, a state effort launched Wednesday to help adult students complete their college degree.

The adult degree completion program connects state workforce development needs with degree programs at Oklahoma’s colleges and universities. A grant from Lumina Foundation is providing more than $777,000 over a three-year period to support the program.

Orange Pride: Kathy Williams

As a high-school dropout who started college at age 30 and now has bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Kathy Williams has an edge when it comes to recruiting students to OSU-Tulsa.

“I can relate to nontraditional students because I was one,” she said. “I know how important education is. It’s something nobody can ever take from you.”
