Join OSU's effort to maintain a safe environment

At Oklahoma State University we pride ourselves on providing an enlightening college experience, which demands a safe and healthy student environment. To that end, all new students are required to complete our New Student Online Training, an online sexual violence prevention, mental health awareness, and cybersecurity education program.

Disclosure

Some of the training contains sensitive material involving sexual and interpersonal violence. While trigger warnings and resources are provided throughout the program, we understand such programming may be problematic for some viewers.   • What must be completed to prevent or remove an enrollment hold?

    You must complete the training in its entirety - 14/14 Complete Modules, There are 14 modules that need completed for your training to be completed.

    After each of these modules, returned to the main training page with the list of 14 modules. Some of the modules will be text that you need to read, and some will be videos. Watch the videos in their entirety to complete the section.

    Information about Module 11: Sexual Violence Prevention for Undergraduate/ Graduate Students

    There are 12 or 13 sections within Module 11.

    At the end of the Sexual Violence course, you will complete a Final Assessment on the content. You must earn at least an 80% on the Final Assessment of the Sexual Violence Prevention Course.

    Information about Module 13: Cybersecurity Overview for Students

    There are 3 sections within Module 13.

    1. Introduction – 1 minute

    2. Tutorial – 10 minutes

    3. Final Assessment – 2 minutes

    At the end of the Cybersecurity course, you will complete a Final Assessment on the content. You must earn at least an 80% on the Final Assessment.

    After completing the final assessment, click the “back” button to return to the main training page.

    Complete the Final Assessment question.The Table of Contents needs to show 14/14 Complete.

  • What is a passing score?
    You are required to earn an 80% or higher on the final assessment in order to pass.
  • How do I access closed captions?
    Closed captions are located on the bottom right of the video screen. Captions are available in four different languages.
  • How do I know if I successfully completed the training?
    If you have successfully completed your training, your enrollment hold will automatically be removed. You can check if you have an enrollment hold by logging into my.okstate.edu, and click on Student Profile under Student Self Service. On this page, you can see your registration holds in the upper right corner by clicking Holds. If you have a hold due to your 1 is 2 Many training being incomplete, it will appear like this:

  • Do I need to print off my certificate of completion?
    No. The program will automatically communicate your completion, so there is no need to print or send your completion certificate.
  • When will the enrollment hold be removed?
    Once you have completed the training in full, your enrollment hold will automatically be removed within a few hours
  • Need Troubleshooting Tips?
    Use a recent internet browser. Google Chrome and Mozillla Firefox  or Apple Safari (version 6 or newer). The program also required Adobe Flash (version 10 or newer) and a high speed internet connection. The program is also not supported on smartphones or tablets. Computer labs across campus can be utilized to complete training.

    Here are some troubleshooting tips:
    1. Restart your browser. (Mac will need to fully quite the browser)
    2. Make sure you are using a recent version of your browser.
    3. Clear your browser's cache. Typically located under your browser's history settings.
    4. It is possible that device-specific browser extension and/or pop-up blockers may be interfering with your training.
    5. Try accessing the training from another browser.

  • Do I have to complete the training in one sitting?
    No, you can sign out and log back in to complete the training in multiple sessions.
