Veteran Support: Serving Those Who Have Served
After giving your time and sacrificing so much to serve our country, we just want to say a huge THANK YOU to our veterans.
With Veteran's Day this Sunday, Nov. 11 we are reminded that the support you've shown us only deserves support in return.
This is why we want to share information about resources to help you succeed here at OSU-Tulsa.
Veteran Success Center
Located in the Main Hall Commons, the Veteran Success Center is a space for student veterans, active military and military affiliated students to study and relax.
Our hope is that you use this space as your own and feel a sense of community in sharing it with fellow veterans. If the University is open, the Success Center is open!
Go in there to study, use the computer workstations or even just relax.
If you're looking for some extra help with schoolwork...
Veteran Benefits Services
OSU wants you to have your best experience as a student. Whether you have questions about benefits programs or VA forms, Veteran Benefits Services can help.
As a veteran, you may also qualify for specific grants, loans and work-study programs. You can learn more on the OSU Stillwater Scholarships and Financial Aid website.
Before applying for any financial aid...
You're going to want to fill out and submit your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
Note: For Military Tuition Assistance programs, you'll need to contact the Education Officer for your unit.
If you are a veteran with tax-exempt status, you can use it when purchasing your textbooks from shopokstate.com. You can also get free shipping if you have them shipped to OSU-Tulsa Information Center and pick them up there.
We know transitioning from military life to civilian life isn't always easy and sometimes even the day to day stresses can build up.
The OSU-Tulsa Counseling Center offers confidential counseling services and is a great resource for anyone needing to talk. As a student, your first five sessions are free and the subsequent sessions are $10 each. Learn more about the services they provide at the Counseling Center website.
OSU-Tulsa staff and faculty are here for you and want to help you make the most out of your college experience.
