Broad Expertise/Interests: Non-invasive assessment of neuromuscular function and motor unit behavior, acute and chronic neuromuscular responses to resistance training and chronic neuromuscular responses to aging, the physiological effects of conditions characterized by low-grade systemic inflammation, the effects of nutrition and dietary supplementation on health and human performance across the age-span
Equipment/Techniques: Minimally Invasive Neuromuscular Testing (Peripheral Nerve Stimulation, TMS, Surface and Needle EMG, EMG signal decomposition for study of motor unit behavior, mechanomyography; near infrared spectroscopy); Phlebotomy (and some blood processing/analyses); Post-prandial responses; flow-mediated dilation; Body composition; Nutritional assessments; Exercise and nutritional interventions
Seeking Collaborators with Skill Sets: Ability to assess common, functional genetic polymorphisms in humans from blood or saliva samples; epigenetics
