2021 Reconciliation in America National Symposium

"The Future of Tulsa's Past: The Centennial of the Tulsa Race Massacre and Beyond"

This year, the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation commemorates the centennial of the 1921 Race Massacre and has assembled celebrated authors, activists, educators, and journalists to discuss the story of the Tulsa Race Massacre and how we can work toward the intentional journey of reconciliation.

By convening global scholars and practitioners, the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation hopes to promote a dialogue among those who work to bridge societal divides.

This year, attendees have two ways to attend the National Symposium: Virtually and in-person with limited seating capacity.

Speakers include:

  • Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson
  • Educator and author Daina Ramey Berry
  • Philosopher and activist Cornell West
  • Historian Scott Ellsworth
  • National Park Service’s chief historian Turkiya Lowe
  • Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Eli Saslow
