Selecting Journals, Avoiding Predatory Publishers, Understanding Open Access, and Exercising Your Rights as an Author
This course is intended for both new and experienced authors. It will cover a wide range of topics, including tools and methods for evaluating journal quality; defining and identifying "predatory" publishers; understanding open access journals; interpreting your publishing agreement; and exercising your rights to make your peer reviewed manuscripts openly available.

Virtual Workshop - Business, Branding and Bias

Warren Buffett observed, “[i]t takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.” This course explores reputation and brand management for consumers and corporations. We will provide practical insight on building brands and banishing bias. Participants will learn how to recognize bias in their own decision-making as well as bias in the advertisements they view. The instructors collected real-world examples to discuss best practices to minimize bias. Brand novices and seasoned communicators will benefit from the combined professional and scholarly approaches to business, branding and bias.
