Virtual Event | In Focus: Flickr and the Library of Congress
Friday, April 22, 2022
1-2 p.m.

Speaker: Hanna Soltys, Reference Librarian, Library of Congress, Prints & Photographs Division

Learning Outcomes: In January 2008, the Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Division joined the Flickr Commons. The Library’s Flickr Pilot provided a way to share collection items with a new audience and gather community feedback, strengthening online records and providing insights on tagging language. Today, the Flickr Commons has grown to include participating institutions around the world, totaling millions of “no known copyright restriction” images. This webinar will look at the Library’s Flickr work, including the COVID-19 American Experiences project, as well as general guidance on finding visual materials in the Library’s catalog.

Please note this is an online event. The online event URL will be sent to you in an email confirming your registration. Register for the event online.

Presented by Edmon Low Library Faculty and brought to you by the OSU-Tulsa Library.
