Truth and then Reconciliation Research Lecture

This lecture by Nicholas Ng-A-Fook will dive in to the effects coming from active distancing from historical "truths" and how that is cause for change in different educational systems by focusing on truth and then reconciliation. During his presentation, Dr. Ng-A-Fook offers a partial and situated overview of the possibilities and limitations of such educational research, curriculum, and pedagogies in response to what others have called a neoliberal Age of Apology here in Canada (Henderson & Wakeham, 2013). He will conclude with a brief discussion about different research studies taking place amongst A Canadian Curriculum Theory Project research team and action at his Faculty of Education in response to the emerging field of truth, and then reconciliation education research.

With opening remarks from Dr. Jon E. Pedersen, Dean for the College of Education and Human Sciences. As well as, Dr. Shelbie Witte, School Head for the School of Teaching, Learning and Educational Sciences.
