LaTeX is a typesetting system for producing technical documents and is an important document standard in a number of disciplines. In this workshop, participants will gain a basic understanding of how to use LaTeX to create documents, how to write and format text, and how to format non-standard type settings. We will use the free Overleaf LaTeX text editor, which does not require installing any software ahead of time.

The Art of Rewriting
Event Date: Wednesday, March 22, 2023 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm Event Details: The Art of Rewriting 4-week workshop
Workshop dates: March 22, March 29, April 5 and April 12 from 7-9 p.m.
In-person or via Zoom
Participants will undertake rewriting an existing (unpublished) work of prose--fiction or nonfiction. Emphasis will be on rethinking such elements as formatting, pace, word choice, and--most importantly--desired readership. Attendees may either bring an older work--any medium--or create a new one for rewriting purposes.
Instructor: Michael Wright
Instructor Bio: Michael Wright is an avid explorer of writing dedicated to examining the thousand-and-one questions about what makes humans so truly wondrous and downright contrary at the same time. His works range from novels and plays to poetry, radio drama and performance art/spoken word. Each new creative effort seeks out the possibility of continual experimentation with forms and pushing the limits of expression.
