The May 6th Initiative: Black Reproductive Health Matters is a public virtual discussion on Facebook Live and Zoom led by the OSU Center for Public Life.

Discussion Description: According to the CDC, “To build a healthier America for all, we must confront the systems and policies that have resulted in the generational injustice that has given rise to racial and ethnic health inequities.” This unique panel of educators, activists, artists, and community champions has banded together to actively address and work to create change within some of Tulsa’s most recognized health systems, in a concerted effort to improve health outcomes for the Black community in Tulsa.

The Panel:

  • Dionne Lambert – Program Coordinator, OSU Center for Public Life; Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Consultant
  • Tami Moore, PhD – Associate Professor,  OSU Higher Education & Student Affairs; Co-Director, OSU Center for Public Life
  • Marshan Marick – Assistant Teaching Professor; Co-PI, May 6th Initiative
  • Angenette DeBose – City of Tulsa, Mayors Office of Resilience and Equity, Resilience Program Coordinator
  • Kristi Williams – Program Manager, Fitting Back In – Tulsa; Community Development Consultant, Standpipe Hill Strategies
  • Greg Robinson, II – Founder and Sr. Consultant, Standpipe Hill Strategies

The Changing the Narrative Conversation Series is a partnership of the Center for Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation, the Center for Africana Studies, the Center for Poets and Writers and the Center for Public Life and the Center for Family Resilience, all of which are based at OSU-Tulsa, along with our friends at Tri-City Collective.
