Virtual Workshop | Introduction to LaTeX
Feb. 2, 2021
3:30-5 p.m.

LaTeX is a typesetting system for producing technical documents and is an important document standard in a number of disciplines. This workshop will cover basic use of LaTeX editors, as well as an introduction to the markup language of LaTeX. Participants will gain a basic understanding of how to use LaTeX to create documents, how to write and format text, how to create a bibliography, and how to format non-standard typesettings such as expressions, equations, and non-Latin scripts.

We will use the free Overleaf LaTeX text editor, which does not require installing any software ahead of time. Please go to and create a free account to follow along with this workshop.

Please note this is an online event. The online event URL will be sent to you in an email confirming your registration. Register at
