Former OSU-Tulsa president to address Class of 2022 at commencement ceremony
Oklahoma State University-Tulsa will celebrate the Class of 2022 with its graduation ceremony at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center (UMAC) on Monday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will also be streamed live on insideosu.com.
Dr. Pamela Fry, OSU-Tulsa president emerita, will serve as speaker for the ceremony. Fry was OSU-Tulsa's third president and first female president, focusing on academic programming tailored to the needs of Tulsa’s workforce and enhancing OSU-Tulsa’s community engagement programming.
“We know the OSU-Tulsa Class of 2022 will be delighted to see Dr. Fry again,” said Dr. Johnny Stephens, interim president of OSU-Tulsa and president of OSU Center for Health Sciences. “Dr. Fry is a transformational leader who left a lasting legacy at OSU-Tulsa. Her focus on transfer student success and improving access to bachelor’s degrees for all Tulsans has touched the lives of this graduating class and many others to come.”
Dr. Donita Shaw, professor of reading and literacy education in the College of Education and Human Sciences, and Dr. Dursun Delen, OSU Regents Professor of management science and information systems in the Spears School of Business, will serve as grand marshals. Shaw and Delen are the recipients of the 2021 OSU-Tulsa President’s Outstanding Teaching Award and the 2021 OSU-Tulsa President’s Outstanding Research Award, respectively.
