McLain High School students visit OSU-Tulsa for a precollegiate conference.

A new tuition waiver at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa offers north Tulsa residents up to $1,500 a year toward their undergraduate education.

The North Tulsa Community Tuition Waiver is designed to support students who lived in north Tulsa at the time they graduated from high school.

"OSU-Tulsa is committed to increasing access to bachelor's degrees for our community," said Susan Tolbart, director of scholarships and recruitment at OSU-Tulsa. "This tuition waiver program will help remove financial barriers so our students can achieve their academic and career goals."

OSU-Tulsa is OSU's urban-serving branch campus, located in downtown Tulsa's historic Greenwood District. OSU-Tulsa’s class schedules and workforce-responsive degree programs make college possible for working students who need to balance busy lives with earning a degree.

The campus is also home to the OSU College of Professional Studies, which offers bachelor's degrees in Organizational Leadership, created to help people advance in their current workplace, and Public Safety, created in partnership with the Tulsa Police Department. College Park, a partnership with Tulsa Community College to provide a structured four-year public university experience in Tulsa is also part of OSU-Tulsa's efforts to expand access to bachelor's degrees.

To be eligible for the North Tulsa Community Tuition Waiver, students must be enrolled full-time at OSU, with at least six credit hours taken at the OSU-Tulsa campus.

The tuition waiver may be continued for a second year as long as satisfactory academic progress standards are met for federal financial aid eligibility.

Interested students can apply online at bit.ly/ntulsatuitionwaiver. Applications for the fall 2022 semester are due by Sept. 9.
