OSU-Tulsa’s spring graduation ceremony celebrates the Class of 2023

Oklahoma State University-Tulsa will celebrate the Class of 2023 with its graduation ceremony at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center (UMAC) on Monday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will also be streamed live on insideosu.com.

“The Class of 2023 have already begun to make their mark on Tulsa through their professional contributions and service to our community,” said Nekki Reagan-Neeley, assistant vice president for community engagement and student services at OSU-Tulsa. “It is an honor to have AJ Johnson, who has impacted our community through his innovative entrepreneurship, as our graduation speaker.”

 A.J. Johnson, co-owner and executive director of Oasis Fresh Markets and a non-profit called The Oasis Projects, will serve as speaker for the ceremony. Johnson established Oasis Fresh Markets, the first full-service grocery store in North Tulsa in 14 years, with the mission of providing food to Tulsa’s food desert.

Dr. Sarah Johnson, clinical assistant professor of counseling and counseling psychology in the College of Education and Human Sciences, and Dr. Ron Cox, OSU professor and extension specialist in the College of Education and Human Sciences, will serve as grand marshals. Johnson and Cox are the recipients of the 2022 OSU-Tulsa President’s Outstanding Teaching Award and the 2022 OSU-Tulsa President’s Outstanding Research Award, respectively.
