OSU-Tulsa hosts book reading, signing and conversation with author Stephen Graham Jones
The Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa is hosting a reading, conversation and book signing with award-winning author Stephen Graham Jones on April 12 at 7 p.m. in the Oklahoma State University-Tulsa auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
“Stephen Graham Jones’s books are perennial favorites among our students at OSU,” said Dr. Lindsey Smith, director of the Center for Poets and Writers at OSU-Tulsa. “His writing pushes the limits of genre with unexpected plot turns and playful pop culture references, with his expertise in literary craft on full display.”
Jones, a member of the Blackfeet tribe, is a prolific author of experimental fiction, horror and science fiction. His recent New York Times best-selling novels include “The Only Good Indians” and “My Heart is a Chainsaw.”
He is a National Endowment of the Arts fellowship recipient and has received awards including the Ray Bradbury Award from the Los Angeles Times, the Bram Stoker Award, the Shirley Jackson Award and the Alex Award from American Library Association. He is the Ivena Baldwin Professor of English at the University of Colorado Boulder. His forthcoming novel is “Don’t Fear the Reaper.”
Jones will sign copies of his two most recent novels at the event, where they will be available for purchase courtesy of Whitty Books. His forthcoming novel will also be available for pre-order.
“My Heart is a Chainsaw” is also the topic of discussion in the Native American Lit Book Club’s next meeting on April 6, hosted by the center.
