Budget and finance specialist Bambi Greer and testing and tutoring coordinator Kimberly McCrackin were recently recognized for their distinguished service to OSU-Tulsa students, faculty and staff.

Greer is the 2021 recipient of the Roberta Joan Cothran Hess Award. The award, funded in honor of Roberta Joan Cothran Hess by Dr. James Hess, is generally given to an OSU-Tulsa staff member from the Administration and Finance groups or from Marketing and Communications Services who have displayed excellence in their work.

Greer consistently supports the OSU-Tulsa Facilities Management Department with OK Corral submittals, takes care of purchase order numbers for all the vendors used by the department and oversees the department budget. She works diligently with vendors to make sure their invoices are paid and are in order. Those who work closely with Greer praise her for being organized and consistent, never missing a beat, even as work shifted to home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

McCrackin is the 2021 recipient of the Max Minor Service Award, given to staff members who have served at least one year at OSU-Tulsa. Funded in memory of OSU-Tulsa employee Max Minor by friends and co-workers, the award is generally given to an Academic Affairs staff member who has demonstrated a strong commitment to OSU-Tulsa.

McCrackin began her employment at OSU as a part-time writing tutor in 2004 and played an integral role in creating the OSU-Tulsa Testing Center in 2005. Her hard work and leadership with both the Testing Center and with the United Way committee has helped each find success over the years. Her coworkers describe her as innovative and accommodating when it comes to providing essential support services to students, and as someone who is always willing to go the extra mile.

All OSU-Tulsa employees are eligible to nominate fellow employees who work on the OSU-Tulsa campus for these awards. Recipients will be chosen by the Executive Team. Each recipient will receive a $500 cash award and campus recognition.
