Pete’s Pop-up Kitchen to bring local and national fare to OSU-Tulsa

Published: Monday, March 20, 2023

Pete’s Pop-up Kitchen, a space for pop-up food events on the OSU-Tulsa campus, officially launches this Tuesday. The first restaurant participating in the open-to-the-public pop-up is Chick-fil-A, which will sell a select menu on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 to 1 p.m.

For the initial launch of Pete’s Pop-up Kitchen, the space will be offered to nearby businesses at no cost.

“We want to encourage the success of local entrepreneurs by creating this space, which also bring more food options for our campus and the Greenwood District,” said Nekki Reagan-Neely, assistant vice president of community engagement and student services at OSU-Tulsa. “Our Food Truck Tuesdays have been a great way for us to invite local food trucks to our campus, and we hope Pete’s Pop-up Kitchen can extend that opportunity to any food business in town.”

Food Truck Tuesdays, which started last fall, has brought a variety of locally-owned lunch options to campus including 918 War Room, Positive Plates and Bobalicious Eats & Treats.

While Chick-fil-A is the first scheduled pop-up event, Reagan-Neeley said others will be announced soon. OSU-Tulsa is seeking participants for both Pete’s Pop-up Kitchen and Food Truck Tuesdays. Restaurants, food trucks and caterers who may be interested in participating in these events can contact Reagan-Neeley at emonica.reagan@okstate.edu.
