Around 130 McLain High School students ranging from grades 9 to 12 came to Oklahoma State University-Tulsa for a pre-collegiate conference hosted on Oct. 22.
Students attended a variety of sessions of their choice designed to teach important skills for succeeding after high school. Session subjects included College Basics, First Generation Experience (with sessions in either English or Spanish), Greek Life, Social Media and Self-Compassion.

The Oklahoma State University Center for Family Resilience is hosting its annual Chautauqua Conference virtually with the theme “Resilience of LGBTQ+ Families: Pride and Celebration” on Feb. 26, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The 2021 conference will feature presentations from a collection of researchers and experts in the areas of LGBTQ+ and gender expansive resilience, counseling and psychology. A panelist discussion and breakout groups are also part of the conference.

Oklahoma State University-Tulsa is offering a three-day interactive workshop in June to provide Tulsa-area teachers with curriculum ideas and strategies for teaching students about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
“Writing and Remembrance: Strategies for Teaching the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre” is set for 9 a.m.-4 p.m. June 11-13 in the Bank of Oklahoma Room at OSU-Tulsa, 700 N. Greenwood Ave. The cost is $25.
