Dr. Raman P. Singh, associate dean for the OSU College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, and Dr. Hongyu Wang, professor of teaching, learning and educational sciences, were honored with OSU-Tulsa’s faculty service awards at a Welcome Back reception on Friday. The awards are OSU-Tulsa’s highest honors for faculty.

Two OSU-Tulsa engineering graduate students recently received awards from the Oklahoma Catalyst Researchers program to help fund startups focused on using technology to improve water. Two of the program’s three winners were OSU-Tulsa students.

Khaled A. Sallam, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, has been named chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering Mid Continent Section.
He will begin his one-year term July 1. The organization’s Mid Continent Section was founded in 1919 and is one of the oldest in the country.

As a child in Pakistan, Saqib Raza was known by his family for taking apart remote controlled toys and various household appliances to see how they work.
The problem was he never put them back together.
“That’s why I don’t have any toys from my childhood,” he says with a chuckle.

On March 7, Dr. Raman Singh, Associate Dean in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa, presented testimony to the United States Congress House Energy Sub-committee on the continued safe and sustainable development of oil and gas resources and the energy–water nexus. Among other things, he highlighted his ongoing research, OSU’s efforts in leading a multi-university consortium, and support by the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology (OCAST).
