Doctoral student to speak at International Astronautical Congress in Germany

Blaze HeckertOn his first foray outside of the country, OSU-Tulsa doctoral student Blaze Heckert will be a featured speaker at the International Astronautical Congress in Germany Oct. 1-5.

Heckert, who is pursuing a doctorate in materials science and engineering, was selected to discuss his research into improving materials used in aerospace components to better absorb energy and reduce vibration.

Tulsa author and activist Ann Patton graduates from college - weeks shy of 80th birthday

When Tulsa author Ann Patton graduated from high school in 1955, college was not an option for poor kids like her.

“The University of Tulsa was the only option for students who could not leave Tulsa, and it might as well have been the moon,” she said.
