OSU-Tulsa and Tulsa Drillers team up for Sharing is Caring Summer Food Drive

Oklahoma State University-Tulsa and the Tulsa Drillers are partnering to fill backpacks with snacks and meals to share with food insecure families whose children are home from school for the summer. Together, they’re hosting the Sharing is Caring Summer Food Drive, encouraging Tulsans to donate any non-perishable food items to drop off locations on the OSU-Tulsa campus through July 26.
“We want to make sure no child has to go hungry while they’re out of school,” said Alnetta Morris, community engagement coordinator at OSU-Tulsa. “With this food drive, we hope to not just collect food, but remind our neighbors that we’re a community, and we’re here to help.”
Tulsa Drillers will be providing boxed lunches and game tickets to the families upon picking up their backpacks.
“The Drillers are proud to partner with our neighbors at OSU-Tulsa for such a worthy cause,” said Drillers Vice President Brian Carroll. “It is a great opportunity for all of us to help families and young students in need this summer.”
Donations can be dropped off at OSU-Tulsa’s North Hall, either at the Information Desk or in room 204. Suggested items include ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, fruit cups, mac and cheese cups, canned soups, pasta, cereal, instant oatmeal, canned ravioli, granola bars or any non-perishable food item.
“No donation is too small. Anything you can bring will help fight hunger and spread hope in our community,” Morris said.
