Financial Aid and Scholarships
OSU-Tulsa provides a good value in obtaining an undergraduate and graduate education. Paying the cost of a nationally recognized public university versus private universities is a big financial advantage for many of our students. Despite the cost advantage OSU-Tulsa offers, many of our students need assistance covering college expenses. There are various federal, state, private and university programs available to supplement the contributions students and their families make toward their education.
Types of Financial Assistance
- Grants
- Work-study
- Student Loans
- Scholarships
Financial Aid
To determine if you qualify for federal or state need-based financial aid programs such as grants, work-study or student loans, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some scholarships require that you submit the FAFSA to determine eligibility for need-based scholarship programs. You must apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, as soon as possible after Oct. 1.
OSU's School Code
When completing your FAFSA form, the OSU school code for the Tulsa and Stillwater campus is: 003170.
Scholarships
Some privately funded scholarships are available to OSU-Tulsa students. More information can be found at the OSU Office of Financial Aid website or application forms may be picked up in the OSU-Tulsa Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid in North Hall 130. Students may also contact academic departments to determine availability of departmental scholarships.
Departmental Assistantships
Many students are able to gain assistantships through their academic department. Assistantship duties range from teaching, assisting professors in research and other pursuits within the university. Ask in your departmental office how to apply for an assistantship position within your department.
