Campus Safety
The OSU-Tulsa University Police department, in partnership with Marketing and Communications Services and Human Resources, maintains and communicates information about safety on campus.
OSU-Tulsa's official methods of communication include email, the OSU-Tulsa website, Cowboy Alert and social media. Students, faculty and staff are always encouraged to check their OSU email first and the website second for information regarding weather and other emergency campus closures. Information will also be posted to Facebook and Twitter as it becomes available.
If you witness or are victim to a crime, or if you spot suspicious activity on campus, immediately contact the OSU-Tulsa Police at the number below. If you wish to remain anonymous you may also use the Silent Witness system.

Cowboy Alert
OSU and OSU-Tulsa use the Cowboy Alert system to notify students, faculty and staff in an emergency. Notifications may be sent for events including:
- Campus closure
- A campus intruder
- Acts of terrorism
- Biohazard threats
In a situation deemed an emergency, OSU-Tulsa officials will send a text message to registered members of the OSU-Tulsa community with information regarding the event and how they should proceed. Students, faculty and staff who spend time on multiple campuses should opt-in to receive notifications for all campuses they visit to ensure they receive the appropriate alerts.
