Friday, March 14, 2025
A team of Oklahoma State University-Tulsa students and faculty recently helped local K-12 students tackle the annual Tulsa Engineering Challenge, an event designed to promote STEM education to Tulsa-area kids.
The team from the OSU College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) was led by Research Scientist Dr. Feng Lu, alongside Dr. Khaled Sallam, associate head of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE).
Two undergraduate MAE students, Austin Biggerstaff and Steven Wilson, were also on the team. During the event, they engaged young learners with interactive presentations to demonstrate various science and engineering concepts.
By showcasing hands-on experiments and engaging discussions, the OSU-Tulsa team contributed to the challenge’s mission of promoting STEM education and encouraging the next generation of engineers. Their involvement underscores OSU Polytech and OSU-Tulsa's commitment to community outreach and STEM advocacy, reinforcing the importance of early exposure to engineering fields.
The Tulsa Engineering Challenge, hosted by the Tulsa Engineering Foundation, brings together students, educators, and industry professionals to provide interactive learning experiences that highlight the impact of engineering on everyday life. OSU-Tulsa’s participation in this event each year highlights the campus's dedication to supporting STEM education and inspiring future innovators.
