When the item is returned, you will be contacted via email.

Similarly, you can place requests for items that are not checked out via the online catalog. You can also call the Circulation Desk (918) 594-8130 and request to have the item pulled for you. The book will be on hold for you at the Circulation Desk for up to seven days.

Fines and Fees

Will I receive overdue notices? How?

You will receive overdue notices to your O-KEY email. If your email is forwarded to another email, the overdue notice will be forwarded as well. You can also check the status of your book online or by calling the Circulation Desk at (918) 594-8130.

Why does the Library charge fines?

The OSU-Tulsa Library's circulation mission is to provide access to materials to all students and faculty in a timely manner. Library fines are in place to insure that materials are returned when the item is due so that other patrons have access to materials when needed.

How and where can I pay fines?

Overdue fines are calculated as follows:

  • Circulating collection is 10¢ a day per item.

  • Interlibrary loan is 25¢ a day per item.

  • Reserves collection is $1.00 a day or 25¢ an hour for 2 hour check-out.

  • Electronic Equipment is $25.00 a day per item.

Books placed in book drops are back-dated to the previous time that drop box was emptied. Fees are calculated by our computer system, and are based on due date and the date the items are actually returned.

You can pay fines at the Circulation Desk with cash or check. The Library is unable to accept credit card payment. You may also choose to have your library balance transferred to the Bursar's Office if you have a balance of more than $5.00. You will need to fill out a form to do so. Balances over $5.00 remaining at the end of the semester will be transferred to the Bursar's Office.

At 35 days overdue, the student is charged for the replacement cost of the book, processing fee of $5.00, and the maximum overdue fee of $10.00. If the books are returned prior to 100 days the fine will be pro-rated and replacement costs and processing fees are waived. If books are not returned, the balance is transferred to the Bursar's Office and borrowing privileges are suspended.

What if I lose a Library item?

If you have lost a library item you will be charged the current replacement cost for the item and a processing fee . For more information, contact us at (918) 594‑8130.

All materials purchased for the OSU-Tulsa Library are property of the State of Oklahoma and as a state agency the library cannot legally sell anything purchased with state funds. Items that are not returned to us are considered theft or misappropriation/misuse of state property and deprives other users of the library's resources, as some of these items cannot be easily replaced.

What if I damage a Library item?

Accidents do happen. If the item is repairable we will charge a repair fee. If we are not able to repair the book, the charge will include the replacement cost of the book(s).
